    • Flash Floods: Common in desert settings, flash floods occur mainly because of the lack of rainfall in an area. Because the area isn't used to the moisture, the ground typically turn bone dry and does not absorb any water. Don't get complacent about flood preparation in these areas.
    • Newly Developed Areas: Similar to flash floods, newly developed land has a major issue with absorbing rain fall. The amount of land available to do so is reduced by the new developments and needs somewhere to go.
